Someone very wise...

My friend Sam wrote this after our friend, Justin Sigley, passed away.

"Make your life ... your life. Live your life the way you want to live it. If you let someone live it for you, is it still your life? Live each day like you mean it. Live each day to the fullest. Enjoy the earth, the blue sky, and the deep green grass before it passes into memory. You only live once, you only get one shot at each moment. 30 years from now, what will you think of what you did today? The people around you don't always stay there, they'll be gone before you know it, and by then, you'll wish you could see them again because there not in touching distance. Love you friends, because no matter how much you might want to scream at them sometimes, they're you friends. Appreciate everything in life no matter how big or small, because everything is a blessing but we get too wrapped up in our own petty problems to realize how lucky we are to have the things we have. Make your life matter, spend it how you want to, and don't waste your life ... because some people were never able to live one."

Anti-Gun Activists...

So, you wanna ban guns. Now? Well, why your at it, why don't we ban knives. Or, how about we ban fists. That's kind of hard to do. We'll just take everyone's fingers off so they can't make a fist to hit someone and take their things.

We'll just ban knives so that we can't cut our steaks.

We'll just ban guns so that the people who use them correctly and civilly and who make a living off of animal meat can't do so anymore.

Yeah, come on everyone.

If you want to stop gun violence, there should be laws strictly prohibiting the sale of weapons to those who have criminal records of robbery, beatings, rape, etc. That way, those slimy bastards can't get their hands on a weapon that goes boom.

Or, they could ban guns and knives. That'd be interesting. I know by getting a knife wound, you have a way better chance of surviving, but what if you are stabbed in your femoral artery? Or how about right in your heart? Or what if you're stabbed by a group of knife wielding criminals?

[Doing a paper on gun laws, had to get this out.]

THIS IS IT!

Today is November 20, and at midnight, I will be seeing the premiere of "Twilight"!

I'm so excited.

That is possibly the sexiest picture of Robert Pattison, ever.

And no, I have not become infatuated with him because of Twilight. I became infatuated with him because of Harry Potter. :)

Since I am a "Twilighter"...

I thought I would post some of the songs that I listened to, or well thought of when I was reading the series.

1. A Good Man is Hard to Find - Sufjan Stevens
-"...and pull out all the beast."
2. Falling Away With You - Muse
-"Staying awake to chase a dream; tasting the air that you're breathing in..."
3. Invincible - Ok Go
-"When they finally come to destroy the earth, they'll have go to through you first. I bet you they won't be expecting that." *POTENTIAL SPOILER* (When Bella is protecting Nessie)
4. Love Me Like You - The Magic Numbers
-"All my life, I've hurt the ones I love. But you baby, you could turn it 'round."
5. Midnight Show - The Killers
-"But promise me you'll stay and fix these things that I've hurt. Drive faster boy."
6. The One I Love - Sufjan Stevens (Cover of REM's The One I Love)
-"This one goes out to the one I love. This one goes out to the one I left behind." (New Moon)
7. Sleepdriving - Grand Archives
-"Snow fell thick and small. It buried a starlit fog. You remembered it all. I'm sleepdriving away." (New Moon)
8. Know-How - Kings of Convenience
-"Just a little bit of danger. When intriguingly, our little secret trusts that you trust me."
9. Cannonball - Damien Rice
-"Theres still a little bit of your ghost, your weakness. There's still a little bit of your face I haven't kissed. You step a little closer each day so that I can't see what's going on."
10. The Most Beautiful Things - Jimmy Eat World
-"You say the most beautiful things, an endless list of treasures of trimmings. It takes all my faith to start. I don't care now how much I'm wrong."

Yep, so that's my top 10. I've got a few more but I can't think of them right now.

People's 2008 Sexiest Man Alive

People recently put out their list of 2008's sexiest men. The first 14 are good ... but number 15? Seriously?

The list includes
1. Hugh Jackman
2. Daniel Craig
3. Jon Hamm
4. Zac Efron (I think this list should be reserved for older men)
5. Robert Buckley
6. Blair Underwood
7. Ed Westwick
8. Michael Phelps
9. Blake Shelton
10. Lang Lang
11. Mark-Paul Gosselaar
12. Javiar Bardem
13. Robert Pattison (who has been sexy way before being Edward)
14. Joshua Jackson
15. David Beckham

David Beckham looks like a crack dealer in the picture. And, I don't think he's sexy at all. I mean, I guess there are people out there who like the whole bad boy image, but Beckham doesn't do it well. He plays soccer ... and honestly, being a fan of rugby and hockey, I don't think that's much of a 'bad boy' sport.
Gross!!

Seneca Rocks, here I come.

I'm heading to Seneca Rocks, WV this weekend with my boyfriend and his family. They go every year for a week (but because of classes, we only go Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). We're leaving tomorrow morning after Italian. I'm driving home and he's coming to pick me up from here. Then, off we go!

I always love going and staying down there. It's so gorgeous and beautiful. I'm so relaxed when I'm there. Just thinking about being in the mountains is making me happier and happier every minute. I can't wait to live there one day. Big log cabin in the middle of nowhere on top of a mountain. Yep, that's what I want to happen.

Anyway, I'm playing Oblivion right now ... well, I was before I started typing this. I've all ready beat the game once, but its too much fun not to play. So, I started over with a wood elf named Kreachen. He's a blondie. :)

Well, I guess I'll go ahead and sleep now. Get up early tomorrow, go to class, go to the mountains.

Mmm ... shoes.

Currently reading: Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris (the book that HBO'S TRUEBLOOD is based off of)

Yes, this is what this post is about. Nothing interesting is going on in my life except ... I bought myself a new pair of shoes today. A pair of Pumas. The black ones with a white stripe. Seen here:

Aww, time for everyone to go, "HOW CUTE!" Even if you don't like them, get over it. I like them. They make my size 9 1/2 feet look smaller.

I do need to go and find a pair of shoes to go with two dresses that I own. I have a hot pink dress for clubbing (which I haven't used yet) and a cream colored dress with purplish-pink polka dots all over it. I'm not sure if I should go with a flat that is the same color as the polka dots or a cream? I'll figure it out eventually.

Hmm ... no class in the morning. That's pretty exciting. I'm glad to be sleeping in. But, I won't get to wear my new Pumas until about 11:30. That sucks. Oh well though. I'll get over it.

I'm heading to bed. I'm exhausted.

Ace-face

I'm laying here after work, letting my feet rest. I wore the wrong shoes like I always do. I usually only wear flip-flops until it snows and then I wear my Ugg's until it gets warm enough for the snow to melt. Then, I repeat that process until its finished snowing completely. Then its flip-flops. I wear these pair of flat bottomed shoes to work that match pretty much everything I wear. Tennis shoes hurt my feet anymore. I can never find a pair that fits right. The last pair of actual tennis I owned was a pair my freshman year of high school. I still have them for when I go running occasionally. They even hurt my feet.

Oh well, I guess I just suck.

Anyway, Fanny (my best friend/yellow lab doggie) has to get surgery on Tuesday. She has a lump on her back left leg that has swelled to the size of a golf ball. It's really sad and I just hope that it's not a cancerous tumor. I think that the vet has said that it is malignant, but let's just pray to God that it really isn't cancerous. That dog has been here for me through thick and thin. I don't want to put her down anytime soon. She's too special to me. I know I'll have to do it at some point in time, but I just hope it's not for a few more years.

My kitty (Ace-face) is laying at the bottom of my bed snoring. And, for the first time last night, I captured him on video playing with a tennis ball. This is very rare for him. Maybe I'll post a video of him tomorrow.

Right now, I'm heading to bed.

Shoot...

Currently reading: "Betrayed" by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

I'm pretty tired tonight ... only sort of. It was a whopping 94 degrees today. Walking around campus really wore me out. Plus, having to take 3 million short cuts to get home. It took me an hour to get home today because of all of the traffic. One hour. It should've only taken me about 30 minutes or less.

First, I cut across the Mileground and down the little road that leads to Jerome Park and cut through Sabraton. Then, I got on 68 from there and got on 79 south ... got of at the Goshen Rd. exit. Turned onto Tom's Run Rd. Turned onto Halleck Rd. Usually, I get on Beechurst and I'm basically on Grafton Rd. But, they're doing construction on the beginning of Grafton Rd. all the way until Goshen Rd. It turns out, there's about a 20 minute wait to get through the flagsmen. It really sucks.

So, instead of getting up at 7:30 tomorrow, I have to get up at 6:30 and book it down my stupid route to get to class on time. I really wish they would do the construction at night. It would make Morgantown's New York City-like traffic less extreme.

Anyway, enough with the rambling about traffic. I've had a headache since I got home from not being able to cool down. I have a Subaru Impreza, and as everyone who has ever had a Subaru knows, the AC isn't exactly the best. You turn it down and your car bakes. You turn it up and it gets too cold.

I know when I had my Sebring Convertible, it got cool in there and it stayed cool. Not too cold, just right. Hmm ... I really hope it's not going to as hot as it was today tomorrow.

I'm going to bed. I've had a headache since I got home.

Sleep?

I accidentally took a 2 hour nap this evening. So, sleep won't be coming to me for a little while. I'm normally up this late anyway reading. I just haven't really wanted to read tonight. That's ok though. I'm sure I'll finish my book soon enough and have to continue on to the next.

Today was fun. Shelly and I went shopping a bit. I haven't really spent that much in a while (probably about $100), and I needed the clothes anyway. I bought 2 pairs of jeans from Pac-Sun (Bullhead brand), a t-shirt from American Eagle, and some sweatpants from Old Navy. Plus, two cookies from Great American Cookie Company ... a lemonade from Auntie Anne's ... and that's it. I think. At least I don't really splurge like some people and spend ALL of my money.

My little kitty Monster is curled up at the end of my bed all cute. Everytime she moves, her paws curl up closer to her. Then she just holds them curled. It really is the cutest thing I've ever seen.

In speaking of animals, I'm trying to talk my boyfriend into getting me a puppy! I really would love to have a bulldog, but I would take whatever. Actually, I would love to have an animal from the pound. Save the puppy's life and give it a good home. That would be awesome.

Pork n beans!!!

My bestest friend Shelly and I are sitting here relaxing. We just watched every single G.I. Joe parody (the ones by Fensler Films). We decided that our favorites are "Buzz Lightyear", "Pink Vinyl Purse", "I'm a computer!", "Ice", and "Motorcycle". I posted "Buzz Lightyear" on here.

We seriously have no idea why we love them. But, maybe that makes us who we are. I'll post pictures later of us down at the waterfalls by my lovely home.

Week 3

Tomorrow marks the start of week 3 of college. It's not been horrible. Actually, I really like it. I think only taking 15 hours this semester really is getting me off on the right foot. I have to get a 4.0 in my ID (interior design) classes and pretty much every other class too.

My classes this semester consist of:
ID 100 w/ Dr. Cindy
ID 110 w/ Dr. Cindy
ID 230 w/ some woman.
Ital 101 w/ Annastella
Univ 101 w/ some woman - she's crazy funny though.
Eng. 101 w/ Sarah Beth

So, that's it. I have Eng and ID 230 tomorrow. Big icky gap in between the two. I have Eng at 8:30 until 9:45 and then ID 230 at 2:00 until 3:15. It sucks big time.

I get to see my Shelly tomorrow! I'm so excited. I miss her lots. We're going swimming with my baby up at the waterfalls in P. County. Wahoo!

Non dire quattro finché non l'hai nel sacco!

Here I am writing in a blog. I'm usually not sure how to start these things, but I'm still trying to decide if I want to write a blog about myself, or if I want to write a blog in story mode. I think I might make another blog and make it into a story, not about myself. Just a fictional thing that I would make updates to whenever I feel necessary. Maybe it could become successful and I could make something quite interesting from it. I'm not sure yet. We'll find out.

So, today was a very tiring day. I worked from two until ten-thirty with Suzie and Tammy. I'm glad to be away from the "hag" (Rachel). I can't stand the way she tries to get everyone to hate everyone. It's so very immature and annoying. She's 25 and she has to act like she's in middle school. Geesh, some people.

We weren't too busy at the store tonight, and we got out at a reasonable time (seeing as we weren't done until almost 11:00 on Friday night). Anywho, I have an English paper due Tuesday. That should be interesting to see how the whole thing comes out, since you write these things called genres. You don't exactly use short story telling. You can use it, but you have to use recreated e-mails, instant message conversations, billboards ... just other things to use to tell a story. I must say, it is a very fun project.

Well, its late. I have to model tomorrow for my boyfriend's sister for a painting. Her senior painting is due by Friday and she's procrastinating a whole bunch.
